The New Epic Legacy Project Is Here!

Something Epic looms on the horizon!
Something Epic looms on the horizon!

While the Epic Legacy Core Rulebook is  a very comprehensive tool for experiencing Epic level 5th Edition, it is hardly all encompassing. We have dreams of taking our Epic Legacy  system even farther and have been working toward that goal while the Epic Legacy Core Rulebook was printing and shipping. Over the past six months we have been hard at work bring the next vision of Epic Legacy to life, which has taken shape  in the form of the Epic Legacy Campaign Codex! We hate doing the same thing twice, so instead of just expanding the rules and options for Epic Legacy, we are overhauling our entire presentation. With this upcoming book you will discover campaign and adventuring building tools for Epic 5E games through  Nexus, the inter dimensional City Of Legends at the heart of this book. This resource is for DMs and Players alike, with new awesome options for each (many of which were suggested by the Epic Legacy community). The Kickstarter went live today, so stop on by to see what kind of exciting new content we have in store!

As you can see, Nexus has a lot going on.

What A Long Strange Trip Its Been

With the last handful of outstanding shipping snafus resolved, we are finally ready to close this chapter of Epic Legacy and conclude this project. Hundreds of game tables are currently experiencing the thrills of Epic Legacy, taking their 5th Edition games to the literal next level. We've heard from fans, critics, and community members about what they love about this project and we are overjoyed to hear about people's experiences with our book. We are so thankful for your support, which has made a tremendous in both our personal and professional lives. The Epic Legacy Core Rulebook is by far our best selling book since its publication, which you can now find killing it on Amazon and our webstore. We feel its time to finally close down the project and move on to other Epic 5th Edition books.

Books Incoming!

Hey there folks, sorry for the silence over the holidays. Between that and some issues we ran into with our printer, our delivering books got pushed back and we weren't communicative about that. Our sincerest apologies on that count, we know many of you are very patiently waiting for your books after seeing the PDF. If you would like to discuss the matter with us directly, you are always welcome to join our community discord server, and we will do everything in our power to make it right. That said, the print & ship date for the Epic Legacy Core Rulebook is now January 21st, 2019. We'll have ordered all books by this date, which will print and ship directly to you (rather than through our location in California). Behold!

Glorious print!

The Books Are Great!

After our QA proofs arrived and met with our satisfaction, we are proud to say the Epic Legacy Core Rulebook looks good and has passed the 2CGaming standard we hold ourselves too when it comes to making RPG books. For those of you not familiar with our past work, that means the book you will be getting is gonna be great at your table. We've included some basic pictures below that should give you a sense of what its going to look like relative to other 5th Edition books.

Book Details And Order Customization

Many of you have custom elements to your order, such as deluxe editions and other items. We will be double checking all of our backer information prior to sending out the orders to ensure your information is correct and ALL your rewards are received.

Reach out with any change requests via direct message on Kickstarter or discord!

We will be diving into messages and comments in the coming days to help ensure customer satisfaction in that regard, so expect responses from us there as well. For those who purchased deluxe editions, remember your book will be of a higher quality printing paper, along with options for the basic or alternative cover. Here is a reminder of what your cover options are, as these next few weeks will be your last chance to change your preference.

PDF & Print Updates
over 5 years ago – Fri, Dec 07, 2018 at 08:59:24 PM

We have completed the reformat, errata changes, and error corrections from the previous version of the Epic Legacy Core Rulebook and have started digital distribution of the final file through Backerkit (you should have received an email. If not, let us know).

This will be the final version of the PDF (for a while). If there are further items you identify through the course of the book, please let us know on discord and we'll include those changes for any future updates we have to the book.

Printing Updates

Unfortunately, the books will not be arriving by the Holidays. Our printer is slammed at the moment, giving us an estimated print and ship time of approximately three weeks. We will be receiving the print proofs in a week or two, and, assuming no issues, beginning the print process at the end of December; expect the books to begin arriving late January. We'll put out another update when we place the print orders. Our apologies on the print delays here.

Thanks for the continued patience here. We'll post updates when we have them. As always, please don't hesitate to reach us via Kickstarter or Discord.

Best,

The 2CGaming Team

PDF Errata Update, Hardcover Delivery Date, and the Future of Epic Legacy
over 5 years ago – Sun, Oct 07, 2018 at 02:12:47 AM

WHEW! The Epic Legacy Core Rulebook is out and making waves! People have been sharing their experiences and thoughts about Epic Level 5E every day, and its been a real joy to see how folks are using the content. We have a couple updates for you moving forward as we wrap up the last bits of the this project and deliver on those magnificent hardcovers.

Many an Epic adventure has begun, and already powerful new heroes have emerged!

PDF Errata Update

Despite our best efforts, some typos, omissions, and mistakes have slipped through our editing process. This isn't a problem unique to us (every RPG book has these issues), but we have a list of things (some of which were spotted by the community, thank you folks for doing that) we plan on fixing better doing our print run. This ensures that what you get is as polished as we can make it when you have the hardcover in your hands. This will take us a couple weeks, but the results will be well worth it, and we will notify you when the updated document goes live.

Hardcover Ship Date

With all its glorious cover art
With all its glorious cover art
We will be shipping your books almost immediately after we are done revising the PDF. Deluxe backers will be getting their books first (this is because of how the printer works, not because we love them more, we promise), followed shortly by the standard versions. At the very worst, your book will be in hand by the end of November.

The Future of Epic Legacy

Epic Legacy has been one of the 2CGaming's most successful projects ever, on top of being a blast to work on. We are going to do more with Epic Legacy in the future, so we'd like to give you a bit of a preview about some things we have in mind.

  • Continued 5E Support. As 5th Edition grows and expands, the need for corresponding Epic Legacy support increases. We know that new 5E classes like Artificer and Mystic are on the horizon, and we have plans to give that content, along with other new official 5E features, further support.
  • More Tools in the Toolbox. As we were writing Epic Legacy, we found we could have created a book that was twice the size it is currently, provided we had the funding and resources. There were a lot of ideas we chose not to move forward with because they were outside our scope, but they were cool nonetheless! Or particular interest to us were a good system for creating magic items for Epic characters, a system for creating custom Epic spells, and more Mythic Monsters.
  • An Epic Setting. We have dreamed about creating a appropriately Epic location for a long time, and while we couldn't fit it in the book, there are a lot of strong ideas on the drawing board from creating a really cool location to base an Epic adventure around. This location would be full of mystery, wonder, danger, and intrigue, all scaled up to be appropriate for Epic characters. We'd like this location to be compatible for any campaign as well, and are lookin' into ways to make that happen.

In Conclusion

We are very happy with how Epic Legacy has been received by the community so far, but are going to continue to improve on what we have created. We want this to be one of your favorite books on your shelf, and want to hear from you about how we can best make that happen.

Best regards,
The 2CGaming Team
